As a company that puts an emphasis on the young children in our lives, we want to take whatever success we have in this business and share with a charity that means a lot to both of us. We heard about this organization a few years ago in a Bible study setting with some of our close friends. The message and stories made an impact. As any mother, the thoughts of how this affects other families makes our hearts break and while the thought of attacking such a massive problem seems so hopeless, we have to allow ourselves to think about the individual victories. The moments that the impossible HAS happened and lives have been rescued.

A21 is a non-profit organization fueled by the radical hope–that human beings everywhere will be rescued from bondage and completely restored. By supporting A21, we are joining them as the new abolitionists of the 21st century.

 Those statistics are daunting—and they lose the human element. The heart of A21 is for the one. The one woman, the one man, the one child trapped and exploited, unable to see another end to their story. But A21 sees the one and fights for the one.

 We support A21 so that survivors of human trafficking can be given freedom, independence, and the chance at a better story. 

 

So, how does A21 do this?

Reach - Reducing Vulnerability: Awareness is key. A21 seek to bring awareness in various ways. The Walk for Freedom held all over the world gives many the chance to gather together and make an impact while raising funds for this fight. The Can You See Me campaign that teaches public awareness of trafficking that could be happening right beside you. Curriculum is also available through A21 for teachers and community leaders.

 

Rescue - Identifying Victims: A21 is hand-ons in assisting survivors by training law enforcement, first responders, hospital staff, governments and transportation authorities to identify slavery. Hotlines are available for victims and they will further support victims of trafficking by representing them in court.

 

Restore - Empowering Survivors: To rescue someone from crisis is only part of the recovery process. A21 works to provide housing, employment, health services, education, counselling and repatriation. The Liberty enterprise is a work opportunity for survivors that sells beautiful scarves!!
