The Aurora is a semi-fitted knit raglan tee, tunic or dress that is easily sized up for a looser fit. The optional ties on the shoulders come together in a bow and look pretty with the simple neckline. Leave them off, perhaps, and keep it a bit more sporty with a banded neckline. There are three sleeve lengths. The long sleeve is created by adding a long cuff and is my favourite for the colder seasons. It is reminiscent of my entry for “Buffalo Plaid” week of Project Run and Play Season 14.

Recommended Fabrics: Light-weight to medium-weight knits such as cotton jersey, double brushed poly or french terry.

Ties should be made with lightweight fabrics with drape. Lightweight knits such as double-brushed poly or wovens such as satin, rayon, or voile. Ribbon is also an option.

Neckband fabric should have a minimum 30% stretch. Due to the various types of knit, it is recommended to test and adjust neckband as needed for best results.

Lots of options but also great as a basic shirt!
Written by Lindsay on 2019 Jul 9th

I finally tried out the Aurora Raglan pattern and I am hooked! I ended up making 3 with the short sleeve option- one upcycled from an athletic shirt, one in cotton lycra, and one in interlock knit. It goes together quickly and easily. The instructions are clear and simple to follow. I can't wait to try out some of the other pattern options!

Versatile & Unique
Written by Tandy on 2019 Jan 20th

I love the versatility of this pattern - almost everything has options! You can make it more than 50 different ways! There are also some unique features that set this raglan apart from others - namely the long sleeve cuffs and shoulder ties. This pattern is a must have!

Not just another raglan
Written by Amanda Jones on 2019 Jan 19th

I love that I can confidently cut into my favorite fabrics with Sofiona patterns and not worry about wasting them, even on my first try with one. I made the shirt, with ties (gotta love having a fashion forward option) with the facing finish (so professional looking) and it came out perfectly!!

So many options!
Written by Sara Bowman Scheck on 2018 Dec 26th

The Aurora Raglan is hands down one of the most versatile raglan patterns out there. I’ve made the regular top with both 3/4th sleeves and long sleeves and the tunic version. I love the cuffs on the long sleeve which is fun to add contrasting fabric to. The tunic is adorable with those cute little pockets, great for stowing treasures. I love the little ties that take it to another level. Such a quick and easy sew, it’s a sure winner and must have pattern!

Raglan Love
Written by Kimberley Waddell on 2018 Dec 23rd

This is my favourite Raglan ever. I definitely tend to like feminine touches without being overly girly and tacky and this is the perfect Raglan for that. There some gorgeous options...my favourite being the bows. The pockets are a fun option with the tunic length too! From printing to finished product it took maybe 2 hours?! The amount of options makes it versatile and usable in all seasons!!
